Lean Artist (2016-2018)

Founded in 2016, Lean Artist is the world's first startup accelerator designed exclusively for artists. Participants receive funding and expert mentorship in startup methods to help conceive of real startups that earn actual revenue but also act as subversive, critical artworks.

In 2018 a Chicago cohort conceived of four startups Strapp by Shawné Michaelain Holloway, Trap House Chicago by Mashaun Ali Hendricks, DiasporaX by Oscar Gonzalez Diaz and Clumzy by Jon Chambers The results were performed and presented as part of the MCA Chicago's 2018 exhibition I was raised on the internet
